The Rode NT5 is a condenser microphone specifically designed for instruments including guitar, saxophone, drums, violin, and many others. Its design allows for tight positioning where small mics are most useful. They come as a matched pair complete in a case with a stand mounts and windscreens.

Feature:
It would be nice to have variable patterns, but for this price, honestly, what more could you expect? All together solid package.
Quality:
Small and compact, but solid and reliable.
Value:
I shopped around for a while to try and find the best "bang for my buck". The NT5's were without a doubt the best matched pair for the money.
Desirability:
They might not be much to look at, but once you hear them, you will not want any other mic for the money.
Sound:
The sound quality of the NT5's is excellent. I'm currently using them on acoustic guitars and the fullness is incredible. Little EQ is required post recording with these mics. They also really bring out the highs well (for acoustics anyway). I have every intention of using these mics for drum overheads in the near future, and for choir mics when necessary.
Ease of Use:
It's pretty brainless with these mics. Plug them in, turn on your phantom power, and away you go after adjusting your gain/placement.
Support:
I haven't had a need for customer support yet, so the 10 comes out of an otherwise excellent job on Rode's end.
