The Beta 98HC is a premium cardioid condenser instrument microphone that clamps onto the bell of wind instruments or onto the rim of percussion instruments. The integrated gooseneck and ratcheting swivel joint allows the mic to be easily positioned and secured, and an isolation shock-mount reduces the transmission of instrument 'key noise' and other mechanical noise. A gooseneck angle brace is included to provide better retention of the microphone placement during more active performances.

It comes with 2 wind socs.
Quality:
the cable is the only weak part it can be delicate, but has a good warranty.
Desirability:
needed light weight and great sound. it has low visibity so doesn't detract from the horn.
Sound:
This is one of the better sounding mics for a sax. I use it for all types of live music. I use it with a PG14 wireless set-up.
Ease of Use:
simple to use, just plug it in.
Support:
had a mic quit and shure was right on top of it and fast turn around.
Overall:
I'd replace it with same mic because of the quality of the sound.

Shure Beta 98hc Miniature Condenser Microphone Clip on Microphones Shure Recording Review :Feature: lots of i/o, no headphone socket Value: unuseable product Sound: i am on of the legions of delta 1010 owner who appear to have the curse of a crackle on every reording made with this card. i have tried many different things to get rid of it but it only occurs when i have my delta 1010 connected. others have tried changing virtually ever paramet in their pc and reinstalling windows to no avail. the crackling makes it sound like a vinyl recording and therefore unseable, i think this is a problem with the m-audio software. the sound would be ok if it werent for this but with it its useless.
