Quality: Although this is the only theremin on the market as of now, I do believe were there another one it could not be any better in construction. Desirability: This can turn any concert into a magic show. It can mesmerize your audiences. Sound: The sound can't quite compare to the original theremins, but it is still excellent. Very tweakable. Ease of Use: Do not buy this thinking it will be easy to play. It is extremely difficult if you actually want to play. Sound effects are simple to produce, but true music takes dedicated practice. Overall: This instrument will stay with me hopefully for the rest of my life. Do not get this without getting a stand, and be prepared to suck at playing for a few weeks. The electrical housing is very poor and you basically have to unplug everything in the house in order to keep from picking up electrical interference. I hooked it up to my stereo just to compare the sound with my Technics, and it doesn't hold up. The needle provided is of poor quality. Ease of Use: easy to use, unless you want good sound. Support: Nobody from Ion will get back to me about the distortion problem, and if you go to their forum (http://forums.ion-audio.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3), they will not respond to this particular problem, even though Ion members are visible elsewhere.
