M-audio Keystation 61es 61-key Midi Controller 61 key Keyboard Controllers M audio Keyboards and MIDI 0 41 Feature: its pretty basic in terms of a controller. It just had the standard pitch and mod wheel, a main volume slider, and 2 buttons to change the octave. I also like the feel of the keys, definately does not feel light/plasticy and cheap. Desirability: It looks solid, and feels great. This is great for people that are budget conscious and doesnt want to spend a great deal of money. Sound: no sound Ease of Use: Easy to use Support: I havent called or contacted maudio before so I'm just going to give it a neutral score. Overall: I'll probably play this until i break it. I like it very much, and I didnt have to pay a lot for it. Review this product |

M-audio Oxygen 61 Usb Midi Keyboard Controller 61 key Keyboard Controllers M audio Keyboards and MIDI 1 55 Feature: You get exactly what you pay for on this keyboard. Assigning parameters is done automatically for some programs and to do it manually takes me all of 1 second. Very simple to use. Also come with Ableton Live, which is a cool looking program but I'm able to accomplish anything I want with what I already got. Quality: Feels nice for the most part. For $170 it works. I wasn't expecting it to be made out of titanium or nothing. Value: You get what you pay for definitely. I have owned keyboards that cost $500 and they feel very similar and do exactly the same thing. If you're on somewhat of a budget and want a larger midi controller, then I highly recommend this keyboard. Sound: Doesn't make any sounds of course. Ease of Use: Like I said assigning parameters to the knobs or sliders takes me 2 clicks of the mouse literally. Very easy and simple to use. Review this product |

Emu Xboard 61 61-key Midi Controller 61 key Keyboard Controllers Emu Keyboards and MIDI 1 28 Feature: For it's intended purpose, the features are fine. Very easy to use and does everything a midi controller should. Quality: The keys on this controller blow away almost any synth out there including all the really expensive Euro and Japanese ones. I don't know how EMU did it, but the feel of these keys are top quality! So much better than any M-Audio or other plastic midi controller. The X-Board keys remind of the smoothness of an Access Virus keyboard. Value: For $250 you can't beat it. And it has After Touch! Something the M-Audio board do not support. Some M-Audio and Edirol support programmable after touch but this is not the same. Ease of Use: Simple Overall: Overall this is really a great midi controller. I wish the Novation Remote SL (Automap) boards had the same quality keys because I like Novation's idea of Automap, but the keys on the Novation are hard and clunky. The X-board is the way to go! M-audio Axiom 61 Keyboard Midi Controller 61 key Keyboard Controllers M audio Keyboards and MIDI 1 59 Feature: 9x Sliders, 8x 360 degree nobs, 8x drum pads, came with a usb cable. Quality: Unreal quality - it's the best build at this price you will ever find. It's got a solid feel. Value: The Axiom 61 could have easily been priced higher. Way more features and quality than other manufacturers that are at higher prices. Desirability: It's awesome for your home studio, but it doesn't have any sex appeal. I wouldn't flaunt it's looks at a live performance. But the sides are made of these rounded rubber pads with "M-Audio" carved in them - looks cool. Sound: Aftertouche, you can set velocity, tons of controllers, nice feel to the pitch and mod wheels. Good control over your midi sounds. Ease of Use: Fairly easy setup with Enigma software (download free from M-Audio) Support: There are known problems with the driver (which you don't really need since the Axiom is class compliant--plug and play). But M-Audio typically is fairly helpful on the phone. Overall: This keyboard will always have a place in my mini studio, but I will probably buy another small controller without semi-weighted keys. Novation Remote 61sl 61-key Usb Controller Keyboard With Automap 61 key Keyboard Controllers Novation Keyboards and MIDI 0 17 Feature: The automapping feature is so intuitive and easy to use with Cubase, that it is actually saving me time. Having knobs and sliders usually means you spend as much time programming your CC and channels, but with the SL, you can get right to work. Quality: The joystick feels a little odd, and I would like to see a metal casing. Other than that, the keyboard feels great, and the knobs and sliders feel confident. Value: This is by no means a budget controller, but this keyboard exemplifies the maxim, you get what you pay for. And with this, you get nothing but programming bliss. Ease of Use: There is a learning curve, simply because this is the first midi controller that you can actually "learn" like a real instrument. With this keyboard, you can finally compare Cubase to a Triton or Oasys, simply because it makes life so much easier. Overall: This is currently the best controller on the market, hands down. If you have ever used your DAW and felt like it is just a bunch of random parts taped together, this is the product to make you feel like it is all finally coming together. Review this product |
