No EQ -- just gain/volume and two notch filters that WORK, plus a phase inverter switch that give you even more control over feedback. Quality: Seems very well made and road worthy. Value: What are you waiting for? If you have bad feedback issues, GET THIS! Totally worth $100. Desirability: Don't let excessive feedback ruin your gig. If you play an acoustic instrument (any), this will save your nerves. A must in the tool bag for any serious acoustic instrument player. I got it for Upright Bass (works great). I've also used it for acoustic guitar, resonator and ukulele. Works great on all of them. Sound: The sound is excellent. If you add more gain, you'll get more noise, but that's true of any pre-amp. Ease of Use: Easy - just plug in, turn up JUST UNTIL you start to hear feedback. Then, turn the first notch filter until it goes away. Then continue to turn up until second feedback frequency occurs. Do the same with second noth filter. Support: Don't know, but I hear they're easy to deal with. Overall: It works as advertised. I'm happy with it. Review this product |

Ultrasound Di Plus Preamp Direct Box Acoustic Guitar Preamps Ultrasound Guitars, Amps, and Effects Review :Feature: Features are OK. I wish it had seperate drawbars for the split function. Quality: The product looks and works nicely Value: Good value for the money compared with other similar keyboards. Desirability: It is finished well and is tastefully decorated. The fit and finish give it the class that Hammond is known for. Sound: Sound is excellent. I have a Hammond M-3 so I have a good standard to compare to. Ease of Use: Easy to play and figure out. The manual is a little hard to read but it is well layed out. Support: I have had two fairly serious problems and I ended up solving them myself. Ultrasound Di Plus Preamp Direct Box Acoustic Guitar Preamps Ultrasound Guitars, Amps, and Effects 0 1 Feature: XLR out, Line out, guitar out (for a tuner), EFX loop, phantom power capable, it's got it all. Quality: Heavy steel case. Looks great. Should last forever. Value: No Preamp - DI comes close to this price point for the features... Desirability: It really is a God-send to acoustic guitarists who employ K&K pickups. Of course it works with any piezo pickup and the shape control helps sqaush the quack of UST pickups. Sound: Actually, I have the AG-30 amp which includes this DI. If you check out the Ultrasound site, they describe the DI as an AG-30 without the amp and speaker. If you run K&K pickups the 1Meg Ohm input of this DI is a perfect fit. Ease of Use: Very easy and intuitive to use. The shape control takes some experimenting but overall it is simple to use. Support: I have emailed Ultrasound at least a dozen times and they are always responsive and detailed in their answers. Overall: Even though I have an AG-30, from which this circuit was taken, I am ordering the DI to have the tone control/shaping ability that fits in my guitar case. However, the AG-30 is a great deal. For $70 more than the DI, it has the DI plus an amp and speaker that work great in their own right and can serve as a stage monitor if you're connecting to a PA. Review this product |

But its versatility and sound make it well worth it Desirability: Its brown. The acoustic 'earthy' people like brown, right? Sound: I've recorded and played many different venues with this. EQ features help with feedback at loud clubs. For general amplification or 2nd signal in recording, it sounds great setting all the nobs to center. Quality: I bought this pedal in 1995-96 when they first came out and have played the same on since. I'm said to say that today 11-01-2007 my pedal has finally laid down. Not bad for 12 years.......It has handled many road trips and thousands of gigs. I think it was once even thrown across a bar and back and still worked fine. The minute you hold this thing you will understand about quality. I will be purchasing another with in a few days. Value: Hummm I'm no math wizard but let's see 1995 I paid $80.00 I think $80.00 divided by 12 years is $6.67 per year or .02 cents a day..... WHAT DO YOU THINK.... Desirability: the color and style is right on the money for any kind of music you play. Sound: This pedal time and time again out preforms any chours sound from any other pedal. I use it personally just for bass but many guitar players have borrowed it though-out the years. Ease of Use: two knobs....enough said Support: Back when this pedal came out I wrote the company a letter explaining that I use three of there pedals and wanted them to make a tuner that looked like the effects pedals. I received a t shirt for my idea and in a couple of months get a letter explaining they had produced some and I still use it today. Ovation Idea Acoustic Guitar Pickup Acoustic Guitar Preamps Ovation Guitars, Amps, and Effects Review :Feature: It has all of the features necessary including led indicators so you can see how it is set. Quality: It's solid and well made, except that I don't like having to unscrew 4 screws to change the battery. Considering that the power is only needed to run the led indicators, it should have a wall-wart plug on it too. Value: It's hard to rate it on this factor, because I'm not happy with the performance. Desirability: It;s a rectangular metal box with 2 switches, 2 leds, and 3 plugs. Couldn't get much sexier than that!!! Sound: It adds a fair bit of hum, even with the hum eliminator I bought. There is also an unacceptable amount of crosstalk between A and B. The undesired output does not mute completely, so, without a volume pedal as well, you can't turn off either amp. This problem has increased with time (about 3 years). Ease of Use: It's about as straight-forward as it could get. Support: no Overall: I wish I knew about the cross-talk. I really like these pickups. The factory Ibanez pickups were pretty weak and captured a lot of noise. The Fender noisless are stronger, noisless, and produce that wonderful Strat tone. I use a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp that contributes to the tone as well, but have played through other amps and have been pleased. Over all I would give them a 9 out of possible 10.
