ALSO it has an active EQ. You can use it to record, play live, or boost your amp. Quality: Built like a tank. Throw it. I dare you. It will work like a charm. Value: This is where I say, I wish it was cheaper. but hey, it's worth it. Desirability: GORGEOUS pedal. Green and black? Great color. The looks are delicious. Easily the sexiest DI you can get. Sound: The sound is great. Basically it boosts your EQ on your amp. And that is a gorgeous output. You also get a slap contour. So go ahead and slap pop your fingers off. Ease of Use: It's three knobs with two activating switches. You got your standard input and output jacks. Power supply jack. and BAM. Standard Bass, Mid Range, and Treble controls. Bypass and Slap Contour switches. You get a custom slap tone with that slap contour. It curves the EQ so that you can slap pop with the proper settings. Nifty, huh? Support: Never had to check. But Seymour Duncan? Probably good service. Overall: It's a great direct box. I suggest you get it. I love how it features and active EQ. Nothing to not love. This will last me my entire bass career. Best looking Cab available Sound: I bought a Eden RS410 to replace my svt15e. I put them side by side and tested them. I found the Ampeg 15 much much clearer than the RS410 by Eden. The Ampeg reproduced my basses sounds like the fret board the squeaking of the strings etc. I asked my wife to listen and she was amazed also. You can,t go wrong with the Ampeg SVT15E. Tech21 Sansamp Programmable Bass Driver Di Pedal Bass Guitar Direct Boxes Tech 21 Bass Guitars, Amps, and Effects 1 19 Feature: Wish it came with the power adapter, had a mid control and kept the dry parallel output that was on their original bass DI. Quality: Top-notch. Solid as a ROCK. A real quality feel to it overall. Value: I think this is an unbeatable value. I cannot stress how much this has affected my tone (for the better), which has in turn affected my playing (for the better)... Desirability: Not the most "tricked-out" or high-end looking pedal. I think Ampeg has the niche for that. But very functional, practical and not silly looking like some other pedals (the pod floor boxes are ridiculous IMHO). Sound: Added a whole new dimension to my tone! I play both Music Man and Fender basses. This thing has awesome results on both. It allows me to get that nice "almost overdriven but not quite" bite, as if going through a nice vintage mic pre or other tube stage. Really warms up the mids. I can barely play my Stingray now without it! Support: Haven't had the need to contact them. Overall: Unless I get my hands on an Ampeg SVT or similar, I don't think I'd ever replace this piece for playing live. I use it with an old SWR SM-400 and couldn't be happier for the time being. As for studio work and being able to pop into a rehearsal studio with nothing other than my bass & this pedal, it is irreplaceable. The only other piece I'd like to try is the Ampeg SVTDI. Quality: It hasn't "broke" Sound: HArd to get a good tone. Clips easily even with passive pickups. The compressor introduces noise and oesn't provide compression that I need. I have dropped back to a dbx unit. Support: I called and emailed support about issues with the performance of this unit. I never recieved a call or email back. Quality: No problems with quality -- top of the line! Value: Great deal at around a hundred bucks, worth every penny! Desirability: Gold covers look outstanding on my Gibson Custom cherry burst! Sound: AlbertKingVille! The description on Seymour Duncan's site fits this pickup well. I find it: smooth, warm and thick. The quality is perfect for clean blues and jazz like tones. Distortion is alright, if you enjoy "old-school" distortion. If one is looking for quality, this is the pickup to buy! I played several other Gibsons with other pickups -- these were the ones for me. Ease of Use: Outstanding harmonics; ease of use not a problem at all; best pickup I ever played, no question. Support: They have responded via e~mail within the same day; wonderful service. Quality: This thing's built like a tank. Value: A little on the expensive side.We'll see if it pays off. Desirability: Very practical the way its set up. Sound: I use two basses;an Ernie Ball Stingray 4 and a Modulus Flea 5. This box does a great job to equalize the signal sent to my Aphex 661 compressor since the output of these two basses differs by 9 volts.I am also able to fine tune the sound of each bass as needed. Just what I was looking for. Support: I havent had to deal with the company yet but I'm optimistic. Overall: This was the only product I could find that did everything I was looking for. If I were to redesign this thing I would probably allow each channel the same set up possibilities. Review this product |

Quality: It appears to be well made, but I won't know for sure until the year 2013. Value: It's really hard to believe that a $47 cable is a good value, but I'd be foolish enough to buy it again. Desirability: It really does have that special "sex appeal", but I keep setting on the plug. Sound: I recently bought the 18' Mogami Gold, and although I could hear the difference immediately, I still made the comparison with a 10' CBI Gold Rush. In a word the difference is "sweetness". No more metallic highs and mushy lows, every nuance is now clear and sweet. If you're thinking about changing pickups like I was, try the Mogami first...you might actually end up saving a hundred bucks. Ease of Use: Just plug it in... Support: Don't need any, I can lift it by myself. Overall: I'll never stop searching for the perfect tone, but for now I'm really satisfied.
