Zoom B1 Bass Multi-effects Pedal Bass Guitar Multieffects Zoom Bass Guitars, Amps, and Effects 0 13 Feature: You get a Tuner, a headphone amp, a Drum machine to practice to, a preamp, a chorus, a flanger, a echo unit and cool bassamp sounds for about US$50. It doesnt get any better than this. Quality: Even if it is a plastic case it seems pretty strong. Value: Its a bargain. Great product for a great price. Dont even hesitate, go a buy one. Desirability: I will be able to use this with just a power amp and speakers. No need for a preamp as you can dial up a great sound. Sound: I tried out the zoom B1 after being disappointed with some Korg machines that were noisey as hell. They were full of digital hashy fuzz. The B1 is Quiet, no digital fuzz and no background noise. Brilliant. The effects are excellent but overall I select either the Fender Bassman or the Tube Preamp sound. The drum sounds are great. Ease of Use: Read the manual and away you go. It only took me an hour or two to get familiar with the unit. It makes sense and I like the simplisity. Support: Its only new so I have had to use the warranty Overall: I dont want lots of features and controls to confuse me. I just want a great sound without to much trouble. With the B1 just dial it in. I looked at the B2 but it had the same sounds with more parameter control. This is not necessary as the B1 provides plenty of variation if you want it. Quality: guitar had excellent finish and my own experience is they are very hardy. My cousin has gigged his alveraz yairi for 26 years and done nothing but change strings. One thing that would be really nice would be to be able to use more than one effect at once, so if you need to have multiple effects at once this is not the box for you. Quality: works for me, but is plastic oh well Sound: I don't want to spend money on a tube amp, so I use this for my solid state amp. A nice selection of different cabinets Ease of Use: easy to use, but dont even bother using the presets they are awful. You can get started with good presets on those web sites that tell you how to get a particular sound, but I think the best way to use this is play around with the settings until you get what you want. Quality: Looking at the unit I thought "You get what you pay for" but after owning it for over a year now I am amazed at the ruggedness and value. Value: Can't beat the value this thing offers. Desirability: It doesn't look like much, in fact it looks cheap. But if you want to look good, go buy yourself a guitar. If you want to sound good, you won't go wrong with one of these. Sound: This thing is great, and the price is incredible. It is extremely versatile, if you take the time to learn the deep editing features to create your own presets you can rock the house night after night - when I'm getting dead spots I can easily add compression to whatever effect I am using and store it as a new preset - if I'm not happy with the "house" sound I can use amp modelling to fatten things up. When the house sound man says "that bass was kickin!" you'll see what I mean. Ease of Use: The manual is perfect. Easy to adjust to your taste. Support: The fact that it has worked perfectly under heavy abuse and never failed means I have never needed support, therefore top scores her too. Overall: A loop station is the only missing ingredient. I might upgrade to a different model just for that feature. But it will cost a whole lot more than this baby did, and it's already paid for itself ten times over. Review this product |

It is built like a tank. Feels smooth and rugged, even over built! But, I have had some electronic glitches. Noises that shouldn't be there and it just quit working for about a week! Fine now, not sure why. Value: Its a least as good as products costing twice as much! Desirability: umm.... Sound: Many effects I don't find useful, but there are so many that are! With out my B2 I would be lost! Ease of Use: I'm old and it took me a while to figure out, but once you do, things do become easier. I have to keep the manual with me when I program it. Being able to slow down the song but maintain pitch is helpful for complex parts. Quality: It looks good, but doesn't appear to be robust. A short fall on a hard floor would probably end it's life. Value: Great features at a reasonable price Sound: Sounds pretty good if the volume on the bass is turned down. Otherwise it buzzes and distorts. CD sounds good and it is easy to hear your own playing Ease of Use: I haven't looked at the manual yet. Plugged it in and played. Overall: I'd buy it again. It does what it claims and is easy to use. Quality: After a couple of months I noticed a rattling coming from inside the case - opened it up and one of the screws holding the PC board had come loose and was rattling around in the case - ridiculous. Re-installed all the screws with Lok-Tite Value: Buy separate effects - the Boss ones are quite good, and the Behringers are an amazing deal. Or get a better multi-effects pedal. Desirability: I haven't used this in years. I really should put it on eBay. Sound: I have owned this pedal for almost 10 years. The sounds are just lame. Many of the presets outputs are at different levels, which makes it useless for live playing - you switch from one preset to another and your volume can vary by 50%. Ease of Use: I have given up on using this - bought a Korg AX3000B which is light years better and easier to use to boot, although it is about four times as big - and it came with a power supply. Dou you want to play bass, or play with knobs? Well, if you said knobs, this is the rig for you. I took it back to the store and exchanged it for a bass head. Quality: The product seems to be made well, but way to complicated. Value: If this thing were easier to use, it would be a great value. Desirability: The unit looks good and has a bunch of flashy little red lights on it. It makes your rack look cool, but that's about it Sound: I bought this thing and took it home and hooked it up to my rack rig. What a nitemare. It has plenty of cool presets, but it has been made far too complicated. Evertime I changed presets, everything went all to hell. Support: I e-mailed the company before I got the unit to get some suggestions on how to hook it up to a rack bass rig. They answered me after about 4 days. I e-mailed them again about a week ago and haven't gotten a response. Overall: I owned it for less than 20 hours, and that was too long. Tascam Mpbt1 Portable Mp3 Bass Trainer Bass Guitar Multieffects Tascam Bass Guitars, Amps, and Effects 1 6 Feature: The unit does not come with an adapter, but it charges an internal lithium-ion cell that can easily be charged through the supplied USB cable using a computer. Quality: Seems well made. Has an aluminum body that should hold up well. I haven't dropped it (yet) so I am probably not the best judge of who well it is made. Value: Good value, in my opinion. Sound: Sounds fine, but it does not crank out much volume. This is the reason that I did not rate this product higher. Ease of Use: Pretty easy to use but does take a bit of time to understand how to get to some buried features. Some items that would seem intuitively to be important enough to need easy access require a bit more digging through the interface (not a big gripe though). Overall: This device makes learning bass parts easy. Looping through a troublesome section of a song is very helpful. It is a bit touchy about the type of MP3 that you can use. I did not have a problem with this but in reading reviews did notice that others did. 98 percent of my MP3s are recorded from my personal CDs at 160Kbps at 44.1KHz. It does not like variable bit rate files or 48KHz files. I was able to put about 220 song files on the device. All of these files have intriguing bass parts. I will probable never learn to play all of these songs, but they are handy if I want to try. Cool device! Review this product |
