Sonor Mbs53 Double-braced Mini Cymbal Boom Stand Boom Cymbal Stands Sonor Drums Review :Feature: The ability to blend the pickup and the mic are great. Also, having control over volume without having to run over to the mixing board is great. No major cutting out of the guitar is a big bonus. Value: It is a bit pricy Sound: Great sound, but be careful how much of the mic you blend in, as it is very sensitive, and may pick up the rubbing of a shirt sleve on the guitar. Also the mic can get feedback easily, but it is very clear. Support: Haven't had a problem with the pickup, but did have the wrong one for a 12 string guitar (bridge side)... Dixon 709 Cymbal Boom Stand Boom Cymbal Stands Dixon Drums 0 24 Feature: The"metal on meta"l aspect of how this is held together is a serious flaw that leads to premature failure. Quality: The lower connection to the legs fell apart the first time I used it on stage, with only about 10 hours play time on it. The "double chrome finish" wears off on the moving parts, the nuts strip easily, not made for people who actually play gigs and need to be able to set up and tear down again and again. Value: I bought it because it was the cheapest stand at the store. There's a reason it's so cheap. Desirability: Looks just like what it is, a cheap boom stand. Pearl Bc100s Convertible Cymbal Boom Stand Boom Cymbal Stands Pearl Drums Review :Feature: For the money, its features are more than adequate. A simple reverb option would be a nice addition. Quality: Well built and sturdy so far. Value: Until they fix the preamp problems this box is only good for basic portable announcing. Desirability: Good, practical design. Sound: Tweaking the 4 band EQ will improve the sound quite a bit. But there's a fairly serious weakness: Low frequencies, say from the bottom strings of a guitar, cause higher frequencies to be suppressed. So, for instance, if you strum a chord on the guitar, you'll notice the upper strings are barely heard. The vocal mic is also suppressed. I've been in contact with Crate and they admit it's a design issue. Support: Quick response from the CS department regarding the sound problem. But no resolution yet. We'll see... Tama Hc33bs Stage Master Convertible Boom Stand Boom Cymbal Stands Tama Drums Review :Feature: It is lighter weight because of the neodymium magnets and the lighter, cheaper class-D amp. Quality: As far as class D amp go, this is one of the cleverest designs so far. It compensates very well for the gimmicky limitations of the cheaper Class-D topology. Value: The older models are a better value. Neodymium SHOULD cost LESS, NOT MORE. And class D amplifiers are cheaper, not better. Desirability: The "I want it" factor depends on how misinformed you are. If you mistakenly believe that neodymium is rare or expensive because it is called a "rare earth" element, then you might be fooled. Also, new "class-D" amplifiers are less expensive to make. Why then, should this new model cost MORE than the older one? Sound: Basically, just as good as the previous model. Ease of Use: Easy, fast, good. Support: Honestly, have you ever tried to get a response from Mackie? Overall: I'm certain that this speaker sounds good, just like the old one. I know it weighs a little less.
